Growing up with Doxies it was only natural for me to own a couple after I got married. Living in Northern Colorado with colder temperatures through out the year, it is also very necessary to own a few dog coats if you are an owner of the Dachshund breed. After countless attempts to find a coat that would fit the short legged, long bodied breed, I finally decided to make my own. Even though Hick Dog coats are patterned to fit Doxies, they are tailored to fit other smaller breeds like Chihuahuas, Jack Russels, Yorkies, Shihtzus and the like. In 2010 we added dog collars to our product line. They are all made with top quality leather and are adorned with turquoise, silver or Swarovksi crystal beads hand sewn onto them. Every design is unique and fun and are sure to add a little character to your dog.

Our designs in general are heavily influenced by being involved in the western way of life including ranching, rodeos, team roping, etc. The dog coats are made with recycled jean materials and have been worn in well on the ranch by a Cowboy named Fred (my husband) giving them their distinct look. There are many choices for the inner lining which are made of warm, cozy fleece or flannel. You might see some designs that have a bit of a "blinged up" look with the Swarovski Crystals and hair on hide and others are a little more on the tame side. Whatever your taste or style might be, there is something for everyone at Hick Dog!
